Executive Order 2022-33 | Langston University

On December 8, 2022, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt issued Executive Order 2022-33. Since that time, Langston University as well as other state institutions of higher education have been reviewing social media use procedures and policies with the appropriate entities including legal counsel, governing boards, and information technology professionals.

The order prohibits employees of the State of Oklahoma from downloading or using the TikTok app on state-issued devices or networks and requires state networks to blacklist TikTok. As a public institution of higher education, Langston University is required to comply with the Executive Order.

In compliance with this Order, Langston University will block access to TikTok on its wired and wireless networks, effective today, December 22, 2022.  Langston University employees may not use university-issued devices to access TikTok and TikTok will not be accessible on any state-provided network.
