Six players scored in double figures as the Langston Lady Lions roared past the Wiley College Wildcats 88-63 on day one of the Dallas HBCU Invitational.
The Lady Lions stormed out of the gate, hitting 71 percent (10-of-14) from the field in the first quarter and holding the Wildcats to 31 percent (five-of-16) shooting to lead 29-14. Langston widened the gap in the second quarter, outscoring Wiley College 21-11 to build a 50-25 halftime advantage.
The Wildcats trailed by as much as 28 points in the second half and never got closer than 18 points as the Lady Lions improved to 4-1 on the season.
Collectively, the Lady Lions hit 50 percent (30-of-60) from the field and combined to finish 21-of-26 from the free throw line. The Wildcats were held to 33 percent (22-of-65) and one-of-12 from the three-point line.
Hailey Jordan led Langston with 18 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. Kameron Shelley and Katrina Christian both finished with 14 points, Koreea Kirksey and Ayasha Thomas chipped in 12 points apiece and Jamya Rogers tallied 10 points on the night.
