The Langston University Lions fell short to the Texas Wesleyan Rams 53-28 in a battle of two top 20 ranked teams on Saturday at Farrington Field.
The Rams utilized a huge first quarter surge to lead Langston 26-0 at the conclusion of the first quarter. The Lions managed to get on the scoreboard when Larry Harrington hit Ivory Wilright for a 26-yard touchdown pass but Langston still trailed 26-7 entering halftime.
The Lions racked up 21 second half points but ultimately fell 53-28 to move to 5-1 overall and 4-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Harrington finished the day 18-of-39 for 311 yards and two touchdowns, Jaylon Orange led the ground attack with 103 yards on 10 carries and Wilright finished with seven receptions for 129 yards with one score.
Langston (5-1, 4-1 SAC) returns to the gridiron to host Ottawa-Arizona for homecoming. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
