Mid-America Christian University Plans Activities for Hispanic Heritage Month

Mid-America Christian University is hosting free public events to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. The schedule is as follows:

  • Futbol Fiesta, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27
    • The evening will include MACU soccer games with giveaways, a food truck and a performance by Ballet Folklorio Xochipilli.
  • Latino Empowerment Day, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29
    • Local high schools are invited to the MACU campus to learn more about opportunities from local, Hispanic leaders. This marks MACU’s third empowerment day of 2022 as the university strives to show young minority groups the opportunities available to them. 

Mid-America Christian University is a Hispanic-Serving Institution with more than 12 percent of students being of Hispanic descent. Additionally, MACU represents 42 different home countries and strives to celebrate the different cultures of its students.
