Langston University Men’s Basketball Rolls Southwestern Christian 96-67

Tristan Harper poured in a season-high 35 points as the Langston Lions rolled past Southwestern Christian 96-67 on Saturday evening at C.F. Gayles Field House.

The Lions built a commanding 47-27 halftime lead and managed to outscore the Eagles 49-40 in the second half to improve to 4-0 and 2-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Harper finished 10-of-13 from the field, including five three-pointers and a 10-of-14 free throw mark in 26 minutes of action.  A.J. Rainey tallied 13 points and D’Monte Brown added 11. Toru Dean, Anthony White and Cedric Roland all finished with 10 points apiece.

Collectively, the Lions hit 46 percent (28-of-60) from the field and knocked down 11-of-21 three-point attempts. On the flipside, Langston held the Eagles to 40 percent (17-of-42) from the field and four-of-13 from three-point range.
