Four players scored in double figures, but the Langston Lady Lions fell short 74-73 to Wayland Baptist on Monday night at the C.F. Gayles Field House.

Tied at 73-73, Wayland Baptist’s Kaitlyn Edgemon hit one-of-two free throws to move the Flying Queens in front 74-73 with five seconds remaining. The Lady Lions were able to get off a short attempt from inside the three-point line by Taliyah Harris which fell short as time expired.

Hailey Jordan led Langston in scoring with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Koreea Kirksey added 15, Kameron Shelley added 12 and Anyia Pride registered a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Langston (10-3, 5-2 SAC) returns to action in 2023. The Lady Lions host the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Thursday, Jan. 5.
