Langston University Five Track and Field Student-Athletes Named to USTFCCCA-NAIA All Academic Team

Five Langston University Track and Field Student-Athletes were named to the USTFCCCA-NAIA All-Academic Team which included Ahmia Dorsey, LaJada Owens, Maysha Vickers, Chasity Veals and Stephen Rodgers.

Dorsey, Owens, Vickers, Veals and Rodgers were selected by the All-Academic Board of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Track and Field Coaches Association to the All-Academic Track and Field Team. To receive this honor student-athletes must be at least a collegiate sophomore with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale and completed a minimum of (1) semester or (1) quarter at the nominating institution.

Dorsey, a senior HPER major from East St. Louis, Ill., Veals, a junior Nursing major from Dallas, Texas, Vickers, a senior Psychology major from East St. Louis, Ill., and Rodgers a junior Accounting, Finance and Agribusiness major from Ruston, La. are NAIA National Qualifiers in individual events and Dorsey and Veals are both All-Americans in the Triple Jump.

Owens, a junior Psychology major from Wichita, Kan., completed the 2022 school year with a 4.0 GPA average.

The women’s track team was also honored as an All-Academic Track & Field Team by the NAIA and USTFCCCA.
