Langston University Donnita Drain-Rogers Named to RRAC Hall of Fame

Now in its 24th year, the Red River Athletic Conference is proud to announce its second Hall of Fame class with the addition of 16 inductees today. Through the Hall of Fame, the RRAC seeks to honor the individuals who have contributed to the launch and growth of the conference as administrators, coaches and student-athletes while achieving excellence in their roles.

Candidates were nominated by RRAC member institutions from the past and present. This year’s list of inductees includes a mix of student-athletes, coaches, administrators and Tony Stigliano, the RRAC’s commissioner and one of the conference’s founders. 

Donnita Drain-Rogers, Langston University (Okla.)Drain-Rogers led the Langston women’s basketball team to 10 straight winning seasons and six NAIA national tournament appearances from 1995-2008. Her teams produced six All-Americans, four RRAC players of the year, three Academic All-Americans and 43 all-conference selections. Langston reached the Elite Eight of the 2007 NAIA national tournament, and the Lions were unbeaten in RRAC play at 34-0 in her last two seasons coaching the RRAC. Drain-Rogers returned to Langston as athletic director in 2015, and she was named RRAC Athletic Director of the Year in 2017.Drain-Rogers also has the distinction of being inducted this year alongside Langston University head track and field coach James Hilliard, Jr. 

Inductees will be immortalized through a virtual Hall of Fame on the RRAC website in perpetuity, and they will be honored through ceremonies that will occur throughout the next year on school campuses.
