Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Scam Alert

0Comments

With the Holiday Season in full swing we would hate for anyone to fall prey to any scams that are going around!

The following scam is text based, and involves undelivered/undeliverable packages. If you receive a text that states it is from USPS, UPS, or FedEx or is like the text message below do NOT click the link. It could take you to a website that looks legitimate but in reality the scammer is either trying to get your hard earned money and/or your personal information! For example, the possible victim below is asked to pay a “redelivery fee” which USPS would not do.

Especially during the Holiday Season, it is easier to fall victim to scams like this since many people shop online for gifts or are receiving gifts from out of state. Just remember to deal directly with stores, banks or other places where you’ve entered any of your information.
